Kunzea is closely related to the genus Callistemon and bears some similarities to Melaleuca. About 40 species occur in all states and territories. Tick bush is mainly found in the open forest in central and southern New South Wales, eastern Victoria and Tasmania. Flowering occurs in Spring, and delicate flowers are followed by small fruits, which release numerous tiny seeds when ripe. It’s suitable for various soils, provided they are not waterlogged.
